Job Description

The Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration are seeking a Part Time Seamstress to work in the Convent Sewing Room. Responsibilities

Meet with individual sisters to understand their unique sewing needs
Repair clothing and complete minor alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, shortening or lengthening sleeves, replacing snaps or buttons, and repairing tears
Sew curtains and complete other small sewing projects
Sew veils, skirts, vests, and jackets
Meet deadlines and handle multiple projects efficiently

Qualifications

Proven experience in garment making, tailoring, alterations, or related sewing work; professional experience is preferred
Strong attention to detail and precision in alterations
Ability to follow patterns
Proficiency in operating sewing machines and performing hand-stitching
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Ability to sit (in a chair and on the floor), kneel, and stand for long periods of time
