Stanislaus Towing Services, a well-established company at 1307 Angie Avenue in Modesto, CA has an immediate full-time opening for a light-duty tow operator to join our family. The ability to read, write and comprehend English to effectively communicate with staff, team members, law enforcement and the public is mandatory due to contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• *Willing to work any shift or complete any assignment. *Operate tow truck in a safe manner while providing towing and recovery services to law enforcement, patrolling for the Freeway Service Patrol, and responding to requests for services from the public. *Adhere to California laws and regulations concerning the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. *Prepare and maintain required paperwork with legible handwriting. *Perform light maintenance and regular inspections of assigned truck and equipment. *Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. *Participate as a team in maintaining the company's reputation and standards in honesty, integrity and in providing excellent customer service. *Handle incoming calls during non-business hours. Teams alternate coverage for nights and weekends. *Cross-train in all aspects of the company's towing operations.

Qualifications

• *Minimum one (1) year of experience operating a light-duty wrecker or flatbed with a valid Class C license preferred. (Willing to train if can demonstrate a history of reliability and commitment.) A valid Class B and/or Class A license with tow experience is a huge plus. *Clean DMV record *No misdemeanor criminal convictions within the last five years and no felony convictions. *Willing and able to pass a background and drug test. *Reside within 15 to 20 minutes drive-time of the Modesto area for inclusion in all company operations. (May consider residents of Manteca/Ripon/Tracy area for FSP only - limitations apply.) Applicants residing out of this area will be rejected. *Read, write and comprehend English to effectively communicate with staff, team members and the public.

Compensation

• *$18/hr to $22/hr to start, depending on experience and current certifications. (We would expect a minimum 6-month commitment if full training and certifications are required.) Most start at $18/hr until experience and skill level are proven. *35% commission on dispatched light-duty calls.
