Social Media and Event - Communications Specialist

The Adrian Dominican Sisters are seeking a Full Time Social Media Communications Specialist to join our Communications team at our Motherhouse campus in Adrian, MI.

In this role you will: Serve as a primary strategist, content creator, moderator, campaign manager and editor of Congregation social media communications and will provide professional support by implementing and maintaining a dynamic online presence for the Congregation. Your creative work will promote experiences and events as you work closely with various administrative departments including vocations, public relations, fundraising, and congregation sponsored events. Working with a small, dynamic, and creative Communications team you also serve as a coordinating resource for on-campus events. Your ideas and technical ability will spearhead long and short-term projects in a fast paced/high volume environment. Pay and Hours: 52-58K. Salary based on experience. Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. Reports to the Director of Communications.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Promote the Mission, Vision and values of the Adrian Dominican Sisters as a member of the Communications team and in close collaboration with other departments through creative and strategic use of social media and Adrian Dominican websites.
  • C reate strategies and concepts for social media channels and work closely with other members of the Communications team to direct content creation. Post and manage content on the Congregation's various websites and social media platforms, maintaining fresh and engaging online presence.
  • Monitor and respond to users; follow and engage others.
  • Analyze and report on qualitative data, translating results into recommendations for revising content or approach.
  • Monitor social media trends, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Manage creation and distribution of various e-newsletters using Constant Contact and maintain digital mailing lists.
  • Post content and maintain Congregation's public and internal community websites.
  • Work closely with Congregation's Videographer and various Congregational offices to produce long- and short-form video projects, including for social media.
  • Internal resource for those planning events on the Motherhouse campus, providing guidance on best practices (i.e., time, venue, promotion, etc.) to ensure both the planner and services are well coordinated for a successful event.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in journalism, communication, or related field

Experience : At least 3 years communications work experience with a concentration on social media.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent writing and verbal communications skills. In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.). Social Media Strategist certification preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML; proficiency in DNN preferred. Exceptional organizational skills. Attention to detail.

Physical: Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stoop, and move equipment, supplies as necessary. Must be able to see, hear, and speak, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately for the job requirements. At times, it is necessary to walk from location to location on campus. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Annual influenza vaccination is required for this position.
