JOB OVERVIEW:

• Job Title: Physician – Pediatric Hospitalist (NICU)
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Silver Spring, MD
• Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: July 1, 2025 - August 31, 2025 (Potential to extend)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (preferred); 12-hour shifts may be considered

PATIENT INFORMATION:

• Patient Demographics: Neonates
• Patient Volume/Census: 22-24 NICU patients
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Included
• Case Mix: Level 3 NICU, High-frequency ventilation, Nitric Oxide, Simple Surgeries (e.g., hernia repair)

FACILITY INFORMATION:

• EMR System: Cerner.
• Specialty Backup Available: Two neonatologists during the day, one at night.
• Support Staff Available: Neonatologists, nursing staff.
• Reason for Coverage: Scheduled locum support.

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE:

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: 45-90 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Rate: TBD
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES:

• Intubations.
• Umbilical lines.
• Neonatal resuscitation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Active MD license or IMLC.
• NRP
• Level 3 NICU experience within the past three years.
• Pediatric Hospitalist experience in NICU setting.
• Board Certification: Neonatology.
• Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Cerner EMR.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide inpatient care to neonates in a Level 3 NICU setting.
• Perform neonatal procedures including intubation and placement of umbilical lines.
• Collaborate with neonatology team to ensure continuity of care.
• Document clinical activities using Cerner EMR.
• Participate in simple neonatal surgical procedures as required.
