Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Apex Developer with expertise in PL/SQL , Power BI , and BI Publisher to modernize their legacy application, which is currently built on Oracle Forms , Oracle Reports , and PL/SQL . The selected candidate will play a key role in migrating and enhancing this application using Oracle Apex , integrating modern reporting tools, and ensuring seamless data management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Modernization: Lead the migration of existing Oracle Forms and Reports applications to Oracle Apex , preserving core functionality while optimizing performance.

• Oracle Apex Development: Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and secure applications utilizing Oracle Application Express (Apex) .

• Database Development: Develop, optimize, and maintain complex PL/SQL procedures, packages, triggers, and views.

• Reporting & Analytics: Develop interactive reports and dashboards leveraging Power BI and BI Publisher to enhance data visualization and support informed dec ision-making.

• Integration & Performance Optimization: Ensure seamless integration of Apex applications with Oracle databases. Optimize database performance and maintain integration with the existing Oracle Forms application during the modernization phase.

• Version Control & Deployment: Implement and enforce best practices for version control and CI/CD pipelines to effectively manage Apex applications.

• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and other IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that align with strategic business objectives.

• Training & Documentation: Provide knowledge transfer, training, and comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate a smooth transition and successful adoption of the modernized applications.

Required Qualifications & Skills (Non-Negotiable):

• Local Candidate: Must reside in the New York, NY area.

• Experience: 7+ years of professional experience.

• 5+ years of experience in Oracle application development, with a focus on Apex and PL/SQL .

• Demonstrable expertise in Oracle Apex 22.x or later, including Dynamic Actions, RESTful Web Services, and Interactive Reports.

• Proven proficiency in PL/SQL development, encompassing performance tuning and optimization techniques.

• Practical experience with Power BI and BI Publisher for data visualization and reporting purposes.

• Hands-on experience migrating legacy Oracle Forms and Reports applications to contemporary platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database (12c/19c), SQL, and relational database design principles.

• Familiarity with APIs, RESTful web services, and JSON/XML processing within Oracle Apex .

• A solid understanding of security best practices in Apex development, including authentication and authorization mechan isms.

• Experience utilizing source control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar).

• Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work autonomously, and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Oracle PL/SQL

• Familiarity with Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports

• Significant development experience with Oracle Apex

• Experience with cloud-based deployment (Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure).

• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for Apex UI customization.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines for Apex applications.

• Oracle PL/SQL , Oracle Forms 12c , Oracle Reports 12c , Experience with RESTful web services

• Strong expertise in Oracle Apex 22.x or later, including Dynamic Actions, RESTful Web S ervices, and Interactive Reports.

• Proficiency in PL/SQL development, including performance tuning and optimization.

• Experience with Power BI and BI Publisher for data visualization and reporting.
