We are currently accepting applications for the Onsite Instructional Coach for the 2025-2026 school year at Aspire Berkley Maynard Academy in Oakland.

The Opportunity:

As an On-Site Instructional Coach at Aspire, you will serve as a resource for the implementation of the educational program and provide training and support for teachers on site within a small school environment where every student is known and valued as an individual. In addition, you will empower students to take control of their own learning and contribute to the continuous improvement of our nationally recognized model. Together, we will change the odds for underserved students, ensuring that every student is prepared to earn a college degree.

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with the Principal to identify needed resources (i.e. consultants, curriculum materials).
  • Facilitate team meetings.
  • Support teachers who are applying for National Board Certification.
  • Coherent curriculum, instruction, and assessment for teachers across grade levels and courses
  • Align curriculum, instruction and assessment guidance to meet achievement targets
  • Backwards map curriculum, instruction, assessment from CCSS/NGSS
  • Identify regional and school progress monitoring systems, frequency and tools to meet achievement targets
  • Participate in regional and school progress monitoring, data analysis and adjustment of strategy and supports
  • Participate in Instructional Rounds and analyze data to assess progress across classrooms and adjust materials and training accordingly
  • Work with assigned teachers to identify needed skills/techniques.
  • Conduct demonstration lessons, hold mini-workshops and professional book clubs, and provide summer
    training.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree, with relevant degree and/or content expertise; Master’s preferred
  • 5+ years as a teacher or administrator
  • CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
  • Expertise in elementary and/or secondary Common Core State Standards 
  • Deep knowledge of curriculum development and program design
  • Ability to design systems for standards, curriculum, instruction and assessment alignment that result in higher student achievement
  • Knowledge of adult learning and professional development frameworks
  • Demonstrated command of the intricacies of instruction-assessment cycle and ability to apply this knowledge to cohesive CIA development
  • Demonstrated ability to build adult capacity
  • Ability to manage projects including development, implementation and evaluation
  • Ability to communicate proactively, effectively and provide and act on feedback

Our salary schedule is based on years of experience for this position type.

Salary range is $84,272-$108,182.
