Locust Projects annually provides internships to current high-school and college-level students who seek an in-depth learning experience towards the exhibitions, events, and development activities of a celebrated non-profit contemporary art organization. Interns work directly with Locust Projects staff and contribute to the contemporary art community in Miami. The best candidates will be undergraduates or recent college graduates, though high school internships are also available. High School Internships are unpaid.
The focus of the internship is in one of three areas:
Exhibitions: Work directly on research and assist in installation of exhibitions, assist with public programs, special events, and meet our artists.
Communications/Development:Learn about the strategies for cultivating donors, grants writing and fundraising to support the growth for a non-profit organization. Learn valuable PR and marketing skills required for any organization as you support our visibility and outreach to new and existing audiences.
Communications/Design: Work directly on telling our story to the public online and in print using digital media content via graphic design, video and audio related projects. Skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and HTML are highly desirable.
