**Insulator - San Diego, CA** **Job Description** + We are seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Insulator to provide labor support to experienced carpenters and insulators. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to learn insulation removal and installation, with work being reviewed and evaluated by supervisors. Available shifts are 1st Shift from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2nd Shift from 1:30 pm to 11:30 pm. **Responsibilities** + Convey materials to various locations throughout the job site. + Organize and maintain clean work areas. + Perform basic insulation installation, coating application, taping, and removal. + Participate in on-the-job training. + Utilize tools provided for entry-level workers, with replacements due to negligence being the responsibility of the employee. **Essential Skills** + General labor experience. + Knowledge of construction practices. + Proficiency with hand and power tools. + Mechanical aptitude. + Production and hand tool skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + No previous experience required. + Prior experience in the construction industry is beneficial. + Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and working outside. + Physical capability to perform assigned tasks. + Ability to lift 40 pounds at a time. + Local to the San Diego metro area preferred. **Work Environment** + The work will be performed at the NASSCO yard, supporting the T-AO New Construction Program in SOC 6. This role involves working on various Navy TAO X Class ships. Employees have the opportunity to join the applicable labor union, Heat & Frost Insulators Local 5, after three months on contract. The work environment includes outdoor conditions, and the ability to work in such settings is required. **Job Type & Location** + This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
