Hospitality Manager
The Hospitality Manager has leadership responsibility for operating all DTC sales on premise. The position includes annual sales and labor planning and executing the strategies and tactics to grow the direct sales business while owning the results of the DTC Channel of P&L statement.
Your internal customers consist of ownership, marketing, winemaking and the direct sales team and events. Your role is to ensure the direct-to-consumer experience parallels the marketing communications messaging consistently across all direct sales channels and the company. With a focus on exceptional customer service and hospitality through interaction with guests and members, your leadership must manage and inspire a team to provide an unforgettable experience at all points of contact. With a bias towards further promoting consumer loyalty, customer retention and driving profitable sales, this role must perform necessary analysis of purchasing trends, site traffic, customer visits, etc., to identify opportunities to grow all DTC revenue and profit.
This position is responsible for creating a professional environment while modeling superior leadership skills to supervise, coach, train, mentor and discipline the direct sales team. Performs other duties as assigned by ownership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
• Leads the DTC team and activities to achieve business priorities: hospitality excellence, consumer acquisition, growing club membership, profit generation, sales goals and brand promotion.
• Leads day-to-day operational responsibilities include inventory management, product development, business reporting, interdepartmental relations, and new business development.
• Collaborate with the management team to create annual and monthly revenue goals and labor budgets.
• Increase sales by creating an outstanding guest experience and building the teams’ sales abilities.
• Oversees DTC merchandise, keeping tasting room wines and inventory stocked appropriately.
• Bi-Weekly metrics reporting on team and individual wine sales, club signups and guest traffic vs budget.
• Manage Tasting Room P&L: Staff labor schedule and expenses.
• Run-month-end DTC summary reports for finance.
• Review and sign off on bi-weekly inventory.
• Weekly and monthly review of cash handling reporting.
• Generate month end reports – wine sales, guest traffic.
• Work with Facilities team on maintenance of TR hospitality spaces and amenities.
Guest Service/ Hospitality:
• Continually ensures that the direct sales team delivers exceptional hospitality in accordance with service standards.
• Effectively models and is able to teach, coach and mentor exceptional hospitality and sales skills to direct sales team.
• Excel at service recovery to transform operational challenges into opportunities that fulfill guests needs and engage consumers and club members.
• Able to manage and train staff on responsible beverage service protocols and skills.
• Accurately coordinate and schedule guest visit details as needed.
• Host VIP consumer and trade visitors as well as large groups and events. This may include hosting specialty presentations and educational seminars (wine and food pairings, sensory evaluation, blending, etc.).
Events
• Work with the Director of Operations and staff to organize, advertise, and facilitate on-site events.
• Work with the Director of Operations to organize calendar, balancing DTC and wholesale needs.
Marketing & PR
• Broaden and strengthen external relationships with vendors, community and local businesses (wineries, drivers, restaurants and hotels) and agencies.
• Organize and execute monthly outreach calendar.
• Represent the brand and winery in selected trade organizations and events
Club, Digital, and Outbound
• Support and Collaborate with Director of Operations and Wine Club Coordinator to facilitate club sales and shipping activities.
Sales Support
• Ship samples & POS for sales managers, export managers, retailers, restaurants, etc.
• Distributor/retailer/restaurant visits: arrange and conduct on premise.
• Conduct all hospitality: Wholesale & DTC, tour, visits, lunches, etc.
--21 years of age
--High level of wine knowledge
--Excellent written and oral communication skills
--Available to work weekends, holidays, and events for special events
--Must be able to lift 50lbs
--Minimum of two years hospitality experience
