Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team in Long Beach, California. As part of the wholesale distribution industry, you will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring food safety, and fostering a safe work environment. This is a long-term contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to safety initiatives and improve workplace standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations by implementing policies that reduce workplace injuries and promote safe working conditions.
- Oversee food safety protocols and regulatory compliance, ensuring proper handling and adherence to industry standards during production, transport, and preparation.
- Schedule and coordinate third-party audits, inspections, and pest control reports to maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on health, safety, and food safety practices.
- Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Collaborate with management to establish and maintain effective communication channels regarding safety measures and updates.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend improvements.
- Manage documentation related to safety compliance, audits, and corrective actions.
- Utilize software tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to prepare reports and maintain organized records.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing safety-related concerns promptly and professionally. Requirements - Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and identify actionable insights.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Experience in delivering training sessions and educating employees on safety protocols.
- Familiarity with auditing, compliance processes, and corrective action planning.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including FMCSA and OSHA guidelines.
- Prior experience in a safety-related role within the food production, distribution, or service industry is preferred. TalentMatch®
