The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Genetic Counselor to join our team in a full time position to work within the division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of multidisciplinary teams dedicated to clinical care and/or research of patients with known or yet-undiagnosed monogenic disorders.
  • Prepare for clinical encounters, including medical record and prior genetic testing result review, consultation with relevant specialties and experts.
  • Assist with clinical consultations, draft consultation notes and write patient result letters.
  • Complete lab requisition forms and coordinate patient and/or family genetic testing.
  • Coordinate specimen send outs and results notifications and assist with clinical and research-based review of genetic testing results.
  • Assist in case review and intake for research patients with undiagnosed disorders.
  • Assist with research programs dedicated to genetic disorders, including relevant regulatory activity and funding procurement.
  • Attend regular research and clinical case conference meetings and participate in specialty clinics, as required.
  • Enter patient information into division database.
  • Supervise medical students, rotating residents and genetic counseling students.
  • Assist with orientation of Genetics fellows.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling.
  • Experience in participation in research genetics studies related to undiagnosed diseases preferred.
