Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven political canvasser. As a Legionnaire, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with the community through door-to-door and street canvassing efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include representing Legion and our clients with a focus on professionalism, adherence to best practices, and achieving outreach goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Engagement: Conduct door-to-door and street canvassing activities to represent Legion and its clients effectively. Your interactions should align with our organizational values and practices.
• Timeliness and Professionalism: Ensure timely arrival and execution of canvassing activities, maintaining an orderly approach in all interactions.
• Performance Standards: Meet and exceed quotas and performance standards, demonstrating a commitment to achieving outreach goals.
• Script Mastery: Memorize and utilize talking points and scripts to guide conversations, while being adaptable to engage in meaningful and genuine dialogues.
• Relentless Pursuit of Excellence: Consistently strive for success and professionalism in all field activities, fostering authentic connections with community members.

Shift Structure & Attendance Policy

• Monday - Friday: 4pm-8pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 11am-3pm
• Canvassers must work a minimum of four shifts per week (more is encouraged).
• Attendance & Performance Policy:
• Three-strike policy for flaking on scheduled shifts, lateness, or underperformance.

Training: Canvassers must arrive 30 minutes early for training on their first shift.

Requirements

• Previous experience in canvassing, sales, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt and engage in varied conversational styles.
• Strong work ethic, with a demonstrated commitment to achieving set targets and maintaining high professional standards.
• A car is required, as you will be on the move throughout Suffolk County
• Ability to memorize and effectively use talking points and scripts while being adaptable in conversations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
