Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel School Bus Technician to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school bus fleet. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel school buses, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and staff to improve service efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
  • Provide excellent customer service to drivers and school administrators regarding vehicle performance and maintenance needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, preferably with school buses.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
