Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Creative Art Instructor (Contractor).

Canyon Ridge Hospital has serviced the Greater Inland Empire since 1989. Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults.

We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Art Instructor is responsible for teaching patients visual art in a therapeutic setting as a mechanism both for insight and for change. We us art in a psychotherapeutic context to promote emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of individuals.  It focuses on expression and communication and learning adaptive skills as it emerges in the therapeutic Contex.

• High School Diploma Required
• Preffred: Assosicates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Art, or related therapeutic discipline is also acceptable with relevant work experience in the field of Art.
