Job Description and Duties

This position is Hybrid and eligible for telework up to five (5) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under administrative direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the IT Manager II in the Department of General Services, Enterprise Technology Solutions, within the Information Security Engineering domain, as the Information Security Officer for DGS is responsible for formulating or administering organizational information technology security and privacy policies and programs, specific to the initiation, design, development, testing, operation, and defense of DGS information technology assets and environments, addressing various sources of disruption. The scope of responsibility includes all DGS offices and client agencies.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.  The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests.  The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for a visa sponsorship or a training plan, now or in the future.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
