How will you make an impact?

  • Have knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer synthesis, and surface modification.

  • • Assist in raw material second-sourcing projects, including conducting characterization studies and bench builds.

  • • Perform characterization studies and analyze organic or inorganic compounds, raw materials, and finished products.

  • • Execute bench experiments effectively and develop polymer products and related processes to meet performance specifications.

  • • Operate general laboratory instrumentation, including UV-Vis, FTIR, IR, Rotavap, and fluorescence spectrophotometers.

  • • Work safely and independently in the lab with minimal supervision, ensuring reproducible procedures and reliable investigation results.

  • • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.

  • • Apply innovative thinking to solve problems quickly and effectively.

  • • Exhibit efficient interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • • Display excellent reasoning, troubleshooting, and logical thinking abilities.

  • • Collaborate as part of a team, sharing data, solving problems, and driving progress.

  • • Work independently and contribute as a team member when required.

  • • Produce and present original technical materials for both internal and external audiences.

  • • Comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • • Write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and partner with cross-functional teams to transfer processes to in-house manufacturing partners.

Start Date:

  • This internship is set to begin on either May 11th or June 15th, 2026 for a duration of 10-12 weeks – dependent upon student availability per academic calendars. 

Compensation & Relocation:

  • Our undergraduate Research & Development internships offer an hourly rate between $21.50 - $28.75 dependent upon the location you are supporting (aligned to respective cost-of-living guidelines). Additionally, a relocation stipend is offered in the amount of $5,000 if necessary. Student must be located 50+ miles away from the physical location of the internship to be eligible for the relocation stipend.

How will you get here?

  • Graduate student completing an Engineering or Life Sciences-related degree between December 2026 and June 2027.

  • 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.

  • Consistent track record of results demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.

  • Energized through championing change, driven in getting results, and savvy in navigating ambiguity.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
