Hands N Paws, a trusted in-home pet care business based in Columbus, Ohio, is looking for a reliable and flexible Emergency Coverage Pet Care Specialist to join our team!

In this crucial role, you’ll be the go-to person for handling last-minute and emergency pet care needs. When unexpected situations arise and/or our regular team members are unable to make it to visits because of their paced schedules, you’ll step in to ensure our clients' pets receive the care they need. Your role will provide peace of mind to pet parents by offering a dependable solution during these unforeseen events.

This role is ideal for remote workers, retirees, or stay-at-home individuals with flexible schedules who can step out for pet visits as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pet sitting and dog walking services on an emergency or as-needed basis, with a commitment to covering at least 25 emergency visits per month.
• Maintain flexible availability to handle any last-minute requests, including during odd hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Compensation & Incentives:

• Receive a $200 max monthly retainer when you complete a minimum of 25 emergency/as-needed visits each month. If you complete anything less, you'll receive a pro-rated amount.
• Earn 60% commission (10% higher than normal)for each fill-in visit you complete.
• Get reimbursed 1.5x the amount of gas money you spend throughout the month for travel to fill-in visits.

Experience and Skills:

• Previous experience in pet sitting, dog walking, or animal care is HIGHLY preferred.
• Comfortable handling a variety of pets, including dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making skills.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• Own a smartphone with access to unlimited data for frequent app usage.
• Ability to respond to emergency requests promptly (within minutes).
• Willingness to undergo a background check.
• Residing within or near the Columbus, Ohio area (our service area).
