Job Description

Summary

Mange the front desk at the Baylor College of Medicine (Baylor) Wellness Center. Provides assistance and provides courteous customer service to members and staff. The position requires working on weekends and includes some evening shifts that may end as late as 9:00 PM.

Job Duties

• Monitors admittance into the wellness center and ensures that the Baylor wellness center members and staff perform their daily duties and adhere to all gym policies and procedures.
• Maintains and replaces equipment.
• Answers phone, collects guest fees, and coordinates tournaments.
• Ensures safe work environment, keeps wellness center clean and organized.
• Communicates effectively with gym members and management staff.
• Reports any incident of injury, theft, or broken equipment to management.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• No experience required. 
  
   

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR/ First Aid Certified.
• Working weekends is required and some night shifts ending at 9pm.
• Experience monitoring gym access and enforcing policies.
• Basic equipment maintenance and replacement skills.
• Front desk experience: phones, guest fees, event coordination.
• Strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Effective communication with members and staff.
