Job Title : Administrative Specialist II
Job Location : Virginia Beach, VA
Schedule : Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Payrate : $24.13/hour
Perform complex professional administrative duties requiring research and analysis in support of a municipal executive or middle manager. Adjust liability claims made against the City and/or city officials and employees as assigned. Adjust those claims of damage to city property. Pursue collection of damages from persons liable to the City
Review liability accident reports and reports of damage or loss of city money or property for accuracy and completeness.
• Obtain necessary investigative reports and interview employees and citizens inside the office to determine the City's liability; and determine city liability.
• Audit bills submitted by claimants for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Pursue settlement of claims with citizens and obtain required releases and other legal documents.
• Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs
Minimum Qualifications Requires any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to six (6) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, such as business or public administration.
