Our client, a premier healthcare investment fund in Midtown, would like to add an Investment Analyst to their collegial, collaborative, and highly successful team of scientific investors. The fund invests in early-stage pharmaceuticals and therapeutics and has a deep pipeline of potential investments. The Therapeutics Investment team works with physician-scientists, entrepreneurs, and academics to evaluate early stage/pre-clinical pharma development programs and individual products. The Analyst will develop financial models for these products to develop investment strategy and a thesis for the pipeline, determine capital and resource allocation, and monetize the pipeline. The role requires the ability to work closely with other internal teams to assess product marketability. The strongest candidate has an MD or PhD and 2-5 years of relevant experience in equity research, private equity, VC, or investment banking. Operational experience in a therapeutics context is a plus. Candidates must have outstanding experience building business models for early-stage biotech products and developments rather than for pharma companies. The ability to translate model outputs into investment insight is crucial. This role requires problem solving skills and the ability to work in concert with scientists, data specialists, medical professionals, and investment staff. Candidates must be intellectually curious and be able to listen and communicate effectively. Candidates should understand disease biology. Salary: $175-350,000+ bonus.
